A knotted cotton rope ball on a rope loop, in the biggest size they make.

This is a big toy, made for medium and large dogs. A Labrador, Golden, Shepherd or anything similar will have no trouble with it. Smaller dogs, a Corgi or a Frenchie for example, will struggle to get their mouth around the ball, so for them the regular size is the better pick.

Rope is good for their mouth. Chewing on it works between the teeth a bit like floss and gives the gums something to press on, which is why we like rope over plastic. And because it is knotted tightly, it takes a lot of pulling before it loosens at all, so with normal use this should last you a long time.

The loop lets you swing it, throw it a long way, and hold your end of a tug of war without losing a finger. It also means the dog can carry it around by the tail, which they do.

Rope does eventually fray if a dog gets to work on it alone, so keep it as a play-together toy, check it now and then, and take it away once strands come loose.
